Resource Management

• GridPP resources are now (mostly) deployed
• Monitoring (management) instruments and
  procedures are required
• To ensure resources are directed toward project
  goals
• To satisfy the Oversight Committee that we are
  using funds properly
• These Instruments and procedures are now (mostly)
  in place
• Documented and available on Web site (soon)

Testbed Status

• Some thought has gone into issue of
• Middleware Development Project ? Stable
  Production Platform
• LHC Experiments EDG ? LCG
• Make release X-1 stable or concentrate on
  release X
• (UK) Non LHC Experiments
• No magic answers
• Recent EDG managers meeting freeze 1.1 and
  move to 1.2
• Some notion of really making 1.2 stable
  discussed
• GridPP TB decided to
• Keep 1.1 going to keep UK in current testbed
  add IC
• Aim to get 1.2 running in UK ASAP

GridPP Deployment Support

• GridPP is planning a formal procedure for
  testbed deployment.
• Elements are
• Three categories of site.
• Verify installation instructions
• Ensure one stop point of access to
  installation procedures
• Informal support through TB-SUPPORT e-mail list
• Formal tracked support through e-Science
  Centre

Education / Training / Technical Meetings

• The TB has taken the following view of meetings
• Too many to ever do any work. Situation is quite
  ridiculous !.
• Only run meetings if attendees WANT them
• Community DOES want education on how to
  deploy/use Grid software
• Themed meetings with explicit endorsement of
  community
• Application builders meeting covered all
  elements
• Sysman meeting
• Job submission tutorial meeting tomorrow
• ??? Data management tutorial meeting next ???
• ??? LCFG use ???

• Technical get together and status report meetings
  
• (i.e.as happened before GridPP started)
• Show Tell Status meetings.
• Call for presentations to disseminate what UK
  people have been doing.
• Usefulness is unclear
• ASKED Community Not a single response to call
  for input
