The Challenge
  • Site is to be completely dynamic and translatable
    but the customer doesnt want to use Spectra

  • We took two different approaches to solving our
    problem.

  • Solution One
  • Create and Store the form as a structure in the
    DB
  • Store content in Relational DB tables.
  • Solution Two
  • Store the structure and content together in the
    DB.

Solution One Dynamic Surveys
  • Create Surveys on the fly
  • Administrator does not need to know HTML
  • Content is stored dynamically so no one need
    touch the database.
  • Needs to be easy for the administrator to manage
    and create.

Solution Two Dynamic Translatable Navigational
Bars
  • Create a Navigational Bar that can
  • Be used by a variety of organizations that pool
    their application resources
  • Be translated
  • Easy to use!!

  • Cold Fusion does not handle double-byte languages
    (Cyrillic, Kanji or Chinese) correctly
  • Translatable meant every element including alt
    tags
  • You can use different approaches to solve similar
    problems
