Introduction
This book is about a dog that helps his family to
protect the house. This dog is a savor he even
almost dies but he still stays alive.This book is
very good these people in this book are poor the
mother gathers nuts for a living the father
steels for the family because they are so poor
they cant send any of the kids to school
either.This is a very good book.

About Sounder

• Sounder is the main character. He is a coon
  dog.Sounder hunts with his master which is the
  father.Sounder lives out side on the porch he
  protects the house.

• The boy likes to hunt with the Father. The boy
  likes Sounder a lot. The Boy wants to go to
  school but he cant because they are poor.

  father steals food for the family.

  back a forth in the rocking chair.

• 1.When the father gets arrested the solution is
  that the gets hurt in the country.When Sounder
  gets shot he goes in the forest and gets healed
  by the leaves.

• The father goes to jail for stealing food for the
  family. In the jail the father gets moved to a
  different location. At the location that he got
  moved to he gets very badly hurt. When he gets
  hurt he goes home.

The best part about the book

• I think the best part about the book when the boy
  was so happy that he went to school. I think that
  part was the best part because the boy wanted to
  go to school for a long time.

The worst part about the book was

• I think that the worst about the book was that
  sounder got shot. I didnt like that part because
  the boy was really sad and after the boy didnt
  care because he was at school.The mom didnt get
  to go out anymore because the boy or the father
  weren't there.

• I think that this book would be for people who
  like books of old fashion type of books. I also
  think this book would be good for people who like
  dogs. This book would be good for people who like
  to read long books dont like really small print
  and like good pictures but not to much.

• I like this book because it had good description
  and good words. I also like this book because the
  sentences had good description and you could get
  a good picture in your head.

Good sentences in the book
The roof sagged down from the two rough post
which held it,Almost closing the gap between his
head and the rafters.
While sounder trailed the path the hunted had
taken in search for food, the high excited voice
was quiet.
The pine trees would look down forever on a
lantern burning out of oil but never going out.
A harvest moon would cast shadows forever of a
man walking up right,his dog bouncing after him.
Now and then a cloud would cross the sun that had
finally burned its way out of the gray.

A different ending
The father came back from jail because he got
hurt. The mother and children were very happy.
Sounder came back and was healed from getting
shot but Sounder was getting old now. The father
was sick they didnt know if he was going to make
it. In three days Sounder died of old age the
boy and the father were sad. In one week the
father got better he went out and got a job the
boy and other children go to go to school. The
family weren't poor anymore. They were happy now.
