Procedure

• Weigh the mass of the rock and washer.
• Put them in order.
• Measure the length of the rock and washer.
• Put them in order.
• Tie one end of the string to the rock or the
  washer.

Procedure Continued

• Record the volume of water.
• Lower the rock or washer in the water but hold on
  to the other end of the string.
• Record the final volume.
• Determine the volume of the rock or washer.
