Objectives

• WP5.1 Workshops Roadmapping
• Map astronomical science goals onto technologies
  already available and those requiring further
  development
• Identify links to implementation paths and
  funding sources.
• Investigate how European cooperation can help
  make significant advances in these areas.
• bring together teams to develop proposals for
  technology development relevant to astronomical
  telescopes and instrumentation.
• WP5.2 Information Exchange Networking
• Encourage interactions to develop European
  capabilities for technology development
• e-mail newsletters, web-pages including an
  interactive WIKI site
• Develop industrial networks using existing
  frameworks where possible.

• We want to help development groups know what
  knowledge exists in Europe both research and
  industrial groups
• Both activities lower priority will be started
  once the network has really become productive

• What should we concentrate on?
• My bias is technology for ELT instruments
• What timescale?
• 5-15 years?
