Having just celebrated it 50th anniversary
(1950-2000) POGGIPOLINI , located in San Lazzaro
di Savena ( Bologna Italy), is internationally
known for the manufacturing of technically
advanced components made from titanium and other
special alloys
The vast majority of our prestigious and
demanding customerscome from Formula 1,
Motorcycle Gran Prix and Super bike,Nautical and
Aeronautical industries which can except
nothingput the highest quality products. Today
the companyemployees more than 60 people in two
production facilitieswhich total more than 5000
sq meters.
Poggipolini's core business is the production of
specially made racing components for Formula 1
teams, such as Scuderia Ferrari, as well as
other automotive racing teams. Our expertise and
high quality products assure that our components
are very best the market has to offer.

WELDING SHOP
Opened in September 1999, it specializes in TIG
welding of Titanium and Super alloys components.
The shop includes two continuous flow argon
welding booths.
The shop can meet the requirements of the racing
industry and is equipped with all necessary
toolings for cutting and bending very thin metal
sheets.

RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT
Opened in April 2000, it deals with CAD-CAM
design of special parts.
The shop carries out research and development of
new products and technologies, both internally
and in co-operation with third companies.

Poggipolini has his own metallurgical treatments
division which uses a vacuum furnace with high
pressure 10 Bar cooling methods.
This technology enables Poggipolini to apply
needed treatments to special alloys which are
used in competition racing and other sectors.
Future developments will include new furnaces
with larger load characteristics and the
possibility of new coating treatments such as
DLC (Diamond Like Coating) as well as heat
treatment testing of new materials.

WORKSHOP ENGINEERING
Established in 1990, the Department has the task
to improve the technical level of the production
shops, including the study of the parts, the
design of the necessary production tools, the
preparation of the control programs and the
solution of all technical problems.

RAPID PROTOTYPING
Rapid manufacture of prototypes made of plastic
and/or metal powders with sinterisation process.
Sample of a rapid prototype for the construction
of a bike housing.
Opened in June 2001, its production is used for
the manufacture of dies and models for our
INVESTMENT CASTING shop, in order to reduce lead
times.
This unit is also manufacturing reduced scale
and/or actual size parts designed by our RD
Dept. and other companies of the Group.

INVESTMENT - CASTING
Opened in June 2001, this Dept. deal with
precision casting of special alloys, for use in
high-tech sectors and for its own use in
small/medium production runs.
A precision-cast bike housing made of Ti6Al4V
alloy.

FORGED FASTENERS
Opened in February 2001 in a nearby facility, it
includes new high-speed equipment for the
production of hot-forged fasteners and fittings.
This new shop will work for the requirements of
the mother-company and for general customers.

• In order to meet the requirements of its
  Customers and to develop new products the
  Poggipolini Group has is own labs with the

This new venture was established in May 2001 and
is strategically located in Mexico, with the
purpose of manufacturing some Poggipolini
products meant for foreign markets, in particular
the US and Canadian markets. .
Our RD Dept. is in charge, also, to identify new
products suitable for the markets of this new
company.
