DIET FOR ANGIOPLASTY PATIENT

2
WHAT IS ANGIOPLASTY?
An angioplasty is a medical procedure to open
narrowed or jammed blood vessels, most often
arteries. Think of it as your veins' highway
clean-up team. To reach the blockage, the doctors
will pass a small tube through your artery with a
balloon at the end. After positioning it, they
inflate the balloon to push the plaque (gunk) up
against the vessel walls and increase the space
for blood to circulate. They may occasionally
insert a stent similar to a mesh tube to maintain
openness. To lessen dangers and improve symptoms,
it's a clever technique to treat conditions like
leg or heart artery problems without requiring
major surgery.
