Autologous Bonema rrow Transplant -The
standa rd of care for Fit Myeloma patients
  • Complete Hematology Care
  • IHematology IHemalo-Oneology
  • Bono Marrow Tranplanl

In autologous Bonema rrow transplantation, a
patient's own stem cells are collected before
chemothera py, then returned when chemotherapy is
complete.
A day later, the stem cells are infused into the
bloodstream.
First receive high-dose chemotherapy to kill the
cancer cells.
The transplanted stem cells travel to the bone
marrow, where they grow and develop into new
mature blood cells, including red blood cells,
white blood cells, and platelets.
It usually takes several weeks
before all of the mature blood cells are
replenished.
Autologous stem cell transpla nt can
provide significant control that is both long
and deep, extending survival.
