rotation of the hip causes the knee to twist
outward in relation to the hip. In some cases,
the opposite may also happen i.e., the femur may
turn inwards resulting in femoral anteversion.

Femoral or hip retroversion can occur in one or
both legs. In rare cases, this femoral
retroversion may also occur in combination with
rotation of the tibia. But what causes Hip
Retroversion? Causes of Hip Retroversion The
cause of Hip Retroversion is not exactly known.
It is usually considered a congenital condition
which develops during the babys growth phase in
the womb. Hip retroversion may also occur due to
injury, or physical trauma to the femur. Since
