Title: What Is Panchakarma Treatment and How Can It Help You?

1
What Is Panchakarma Treatment and How Can It Help
You? There are many ancient practices for
rejuvenation in Ayurveda, out of which
Panchakarma treatment is very important.
Panchakarma is the specialty of the Ayurveda
medical system, which is not in any medical
procedure. Many complex and incurable diseases
that cannot be treated with mere medicine can be
easily cured with Panchakarma.
What Is Panchakarma?
Panchakarma is an ancient purification therapy
method of Ayurveda. In this, purification is
done by taking out the irritating doshas of the
body. In this Ayurveda Chikitsa karma, diseases
are removed by bringing the imbalanced Vata,
Pitta, and Kapha doshas into an actual state.
Panchakarma is also called Panchakarma-Chikitsa. T
he literal meaning of the name Panchakarma is
"Five Karma," which means this technique removes
toxins from the body by using suitable medicinal
substances by performing Five Karma. Panchakarma
treatment technique purifies the body and brings
all the three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha,
into an actual state, and the irritable doshas
get out of the body. In short Panchakarma
therapy purifies the blocked sources of the body
and equilibrates the fire, thereby improving the
body and increasing health. Panchakarma is one
of the excellent medical methods of Ayurveda.
Medicine in Ayurveda can be divided into three
main parts.
2
  • Daiva Vyapashraya Chikitsa ( Treatment through
    divine Vedic mantras)
  • Yukti-Vyapashraya Chikitsa (Medicinal treatment
    or Rational Treatment)
  • Satvavajaya Chikitsa (Ayurvedic psychotherapy)
  • Panchakarma is a part of Yukti Vyapashraya
Chikitsa, which includes many Karmas. But mainly
    for purification therapy, Panchakarma is
    performed.

Five Karmas
  • In Panchakarma, five karmas are mainly used to
purify the whole body, called prime Karma.
  • These five karmas are as follows
  • Vamana (therapeutic emesis)
  • Virechanam (purgation)
  • Anuvasana (enema using medicated oil)
  • Nasyam
  • Asthana Vasti (Therapeutic Decoction Enema)
  • Acharya Sushruta (father of surgery) has included
Raktmokshana in Panchakarma instead of Aasthana
    Vasti.
  • How Can Panchakarma Treatment Help You?
  • Panchakarma therapy purifies the blocked body
channels and equilibrates the fire, thereby
improving the body and enhancing physical and
    mental health.
  • There is a three-step process in Ayurvedic
Panchakarma treatment that can help you.
  • Poorva karma
  • Pradhana Karma
  • Purva Karma (Snehana, Swedana)
  • The process done before the main action of
Panchakarma is called Purva Karma. The person
can remove the toxic substances (ama) from the
body by lubrication and sweating. Ama is the
    primary cause of all diseases.

3
Vamana (Emesis or Vomiting Therapy) This Karma
is mainly done for Kapha diseases and Vata Kapha
diseases. It is necessary to correct various
phlegm diseases arising in the head, bone, joint
and mucous places. Virechan or Purgation In the
Virechana process, the contaminated doshas are
removed in a controlled manner from the
excretory tract. That is especially done in the
diseases caused by the dysfunction of
pitta. Anuvasan Basti (Oil Enema) Putting any
medicine in the anus is called 'Basti Karma'.
Basti karma in which only ghee, oil, or other
lubricating substances are used in large quantity
is called 'Anusana' or 'Snehan
Basti'. Nasyam Through this action of
Panchakarma, the doshas located in the head are
removed from the nostrils, and the patient is
benefitted, which are selected and used according
to the disease and the patient. Aasthapan Basti
or Niruh The Vasti therapy method is mainly used
in Vata Vyadhis (nervous disorders). In this,
medicines are prepared from medicinal herbs, in
which honey, salt, lipids, and other drugs are
given inside the rectum. "Niruh" indicates
"elimination of morbid dosha or disease from the
body. And "establishment" indicates
"establishment of life span and age". Asthan
Vasti is beneficial in constipation, kidney
stones, back pain, abdominal cramps and pain and
other types of joint pain (Vata
Vyadhi). Raktamokshan In this Karma, the blood
is purified. Bad blood is the root of many
diseases. In such a situation, the bad blood
present in the body is cleaned through this
process. Eczema, acne, skin diseases, etc., can
be removed with this. Panchakarma is said to be
useful for both the healthy and the sick.
According to the season, we should do Panchakarma
(refinement) so that the irritable doshas in our
body continue to do their natural work in the
same condition.

Conclusion Panchakarma treatment leads to better
health, is free from toxins and imbalances, and
has a major role in rebuilding the body. It
recommends using remedies such as Vamana,
Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshan to
correct deep-rooted imbalances. Apart from
Panchakarma, other medical methods only pacify
the virulent doshas in our body, due to which
the diseases get alleviated, but there is a
possibility of re-occurrence of the
disease. Source Link https//techarrives.com/panc
