How did it all start?

• The rich urban class has always been the target
  audience of many luxury brands until the 1980s
  when the sachet revolution happened and changed
  the perspective of brands towards rural middle
  class.
• The perspective to bring expensive products to
  rural areas paved the way for revolution.

The brain behind the revolution

• Mr Chinni Krishnan is the brain behind this
  revolution. He was from tamil nadu
• The idea of selling expensive products in sachets
  struck him when he was looking for ways make
  costly brands available to lower income groups.

How sachets became the solution?

• He experimented with a lot of different ways
  which failed.
• Once he discovered a suitable material that could
  safely and properly seal the products within, the
  sachet was born.

Continuation of legacy

• Sachet revolution which opened the door of fmcg
  products to rural markets is included in case
  studies of top business schools.
• After his death in 1979, his sons decided to give
  up their chosen professions to take care of the
  family business.
• The efforts of late Chinni Krishnan in the
  invention of sachets were recognised for the
  first time at the Yourstory Disruptors Tamilnadu
  event through the Legend of Disruption award.
