A Social Activist from the city and the secretary
of the Council of RTI Activists, Arvind Sharma,
claims that he has cautioned the LIT before about
the use of substandard material and work being
carried out at night in extreme weather
conditions. He also claims to have lodged a
formal complaint with the Director, Local Bodies,
Punjab, and Chief Vigilance Officer of Local
Government Department, Punjab for a thorough
probe into the project about use of bad material
and insincere workmanship.

Arvind Sharma claimed that the complaint was
brought up to Senior LIT officials many a times
but they were unable to take any actions due
their bad affinity with the contractors and so
they were able to get away with construction of
road in posh area of the town which could not
stand the trials of time and weather even for a
month. Mr. Sharma has been demanding a probe in
the matter and action to taken regarding the
matter.
