  the National Stock Exchange (NSE), another
  popular stock exchange in India. Its a
  collection of 50 stocks, and is known as Nifty
  50. Its managed by India Index Services and
  Products Ltd (IISL).

How is nifty calculated

• Now that you know what is Nifty, lets see how
  its value is calculated. Just like Sensex, the
  value of Nifty is calculated through the
  free-float market capitalization-weighted method.
  The formula for calculation of Nifty is as
  follows
• Nifty (Current Market Value / Base Market
  Capital) X Base Index Value
• The base index value, in this case, is 1,000.
