What Are the Advantages of Cold rolled Stainless Steel Grills?

Description:

Cold rolled steel is up to 20% stronger than conventional heat rolled steel. Rolling the steel with heat can weaken it, but maintaining it above room temperature keeps it structurally sound. This makes it ideal for your largest and most complex tasks. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Difference between cold and hot rolled steel
  • The main difference between cold rolled steel and
hot rolled steel lies in the way they are
processed. Hot rolled steel actually is hot
rolled steel which has been rolled at extremely
high temperatures. These kinds of steels are much
harder than cold rolled steel which is what most
people think of when they hear the term "hot
rolled" or "cold rolled". This is because when
cold rolled steel has been rolled in a furnace,
the metal is actually coated with an alloy to
prevent corrosion. As the metal ages, its natural
properties begin to alter, taking on a shiny and
    non-rusting surface.

Cold rolled steels
  • Cold rolled steels have a rough, unrolled shape,
but once cut into, they have a fine, evenly
machined surface with sharp edges. When hot
rolled steel has its edges ground down using
grinding wheels, the result is a much smoother
surface with sharper angles. There are several
different shapes that can be produced by this
process. Many of these shapes have different
uses, depending on what the intended use is.

4
Some cold rolled steel
  • For instance, some cold rolled steel can be
shaped into various saw-tooth shapes this is
often done for aesthetic or decorative purposes.
In some cases, this may also be done for
functional reasons, as in the case of receiving
radiographic images from x-rays. In both of these
cases, the cold rolling process makes the metal
malleable, so that it can be easily shaped.

5
Most cold rolled steel sheets
  • Not only do most cold rolled steel sheets have
different cutting shapes, but they also have
different textures as well. Some have a harder,
flat surface, while others have a bumpier, grainy
surface. In addition, hot rolled sheets are also
available which have additional processing on
them. The additional processing can make the cold
rolled steel harder, more durable, and able to be
cut into a wide array of shapes.

6
Hot rolled steel
  • Because hot rolled steel has so many different
advantages over hot rolled steel, it is
frequently used for a variety of applications.
Some of the most common applications include
    countertops, flooring, fencing, cabinetry, and
more. Because it is flexible and very malleable,
it is often used as the primary material in
countertops because it is easy to shape and cut
into any size, shape, and style. Because it is
often less expensive than hot rolled steel, it is
often used as a cheaper alternative in lower end
    kitchen and bathroom countertops.

7
Cold rolled steel has flat
  • Due to the fact that cold rolled steel has a more
flat and smooth surface, it is often considered
to be a better alternative for use in building
structures. This is because it is stronger and is
more resistant to damage than hot rolled steel,
especially when it comes to cuts that occur
during construction or remodeling projects. For
this reason, it is often used to build
countertops, flooring, fencing, and more in
    residential and commercial applications. Even
though cold rolled steel has some disadvantages
as well, such as its inability to be cut or
formed into complex shapes, it is still a very
    popular product in today's world.

8
Advantages of cold rolled steel
  • One of the main advantages of cold rolled steel
comes from how it can be formed into virtually
any shape, even irregular shapes. Because of its
ability to be pressed between two sheets of
metal, it creates a smooth surface that will not
have any lumps or bumps that can mar other types
of metal grills. These lumps and bumps may also
mar the appearance of a hot rolled surface,
creating an unsightly seam. A smooth surface is
much easier to install and use, making cold
rolled steel an ideal material for many types of
applications. In addition, the fact that the
metal is extremely versatile makes it suitable
for use in a variety of different building
    applications.

9
Cold rolled steel temperatures
  • Because cold rolled steel can be rolled at
    different temperatures between approximately 250
and 500 degrees Fahrenheit, it can be used to
heat or cool many different types of products,
from cookware to hot-water heaters. There are
also different types of roller bearings available
on these types of grills, which are designed to
provide varying levels of speed while moving the
food to a consistent location in the grill. This
makes it possible for the person working at the
grill to control the amount of food that gets
cooked at one time without having to adjust the
    speed of the roller bearing.
