Title: Different Types of Limit Switch

1
What Are The Different Types of Limit Switch?
2
Introduction
  • A limit switch is an electromechanical device
operated by a Manual force applied to it by an
object. They are used for regulating machinery as
part of a control system to count objects passing
a point. A limit switch is an tool that contains
an actuator mechanically linked to a pair of
contacts. When an object reaches into contact
with the actuator, the device operates the
contacts to make or break an electrical
    connection.

3
There are 4 general types of limit switches
4
Whisker
The whisker switch is a three-inch wire actuator
with a micro snap action switch. On an assembly
line or conveyor, whisker switches are typically
used as a locating device. If an item is out of
place and moves the whisker, the plunger is
activated and the micro switch sends an alarm to
the operator.
5
Roller
The roller switch is a useful Bit because it has
a small lever with a wheel that works as
something passes by it. When the lever is pushed
in, you can also flip the mode switch to turn it
off. To make a fridge light, use the mode with an
LED.
6
Lever
Heavy-duty E.O.T. cranes and hoists use lever
limit switches to avoid hoisting motion over
travel on power and control circuits up to 500 V
and 40 Amps continuous current. The limit switch
is usually closed and cuts power to the crane's
motor to stop it. When the lever is pushed over a
projecting member fix, the Lever limit switch
operates when it hits a predetermined position.
7
Plunger
Plunger switches need very little physical effort
to function. When the plunger is pressed, the
electrical circuit is either opened or closed,
turning on or off the unit to which it is
connected. A spring and a set of contacts are
included in each plunger switch, which transform
mechanical energy applied to an actuator into an
electrical output.
8
Conclusion
Limit switches are electromechanical devices that
are activated by an object's physical force. Also
Because of their ruggedness, ease of
installation, and dependability of operation,
limit switches are used in a wide range of
applications and environments. I have shown the
different types of Limit Switch which will help
you to know Limit switches better . Get in touch
with a reputed limit switch supplier if you are
planning to buy.
