    are responsible for promoting growth, provides
    energy, and maintains life. Nutrients provide
    nourishment, proteins, fat, minerals, vitamins,

  • Macronutrients are the nutrients required in
    large quantity that is why they are called
    "macro" nutrients.

  • Micronutrients are called "micro" because they
    are needed only in very small amounts.
    Micronutrients enable our bodies to produce
    enzymes, hormones, and other crucial substances
    responsible for the development of the body,
    diseases, prevention, and well-being.
  • There are lots of micronutrients in the food you
    eat, especially fruits and vegetables.
    Micronutrients include vitamins, minerals,
    calcium, iron, folate.
  • There are six major nutrients
  • Carbohydrates- It provides glucose to the body
    that converts into energy and supports body
    function and physical health.
  • Proteins- It is made up of thousands of smaller
    units called amino acids. They do most of the
    work in cells and are required for the function,

    and tissue.
  • Lipids- Lipids are an essential component of
    living cells. It includes fatty acids, waxes,
    oils and is insoluble in water.
  • Vitamins- It is an organic compound needed in
    small quantities and responsible for boosting the
    immune system, healing wounds, strong bones, etc.
  • Minerals- Minerals are crucial for the body
    because they help in the development and the
    proper functioning of the body.
  • Water- WATER is a blessing. It flushes out waste
    from the body, regulates body temperature,
    healthy skin, etc.
