Significance
  • Char Dham is a popular Hindu pilgrimage circuit
in India that combines 4 holy sites - namely
Dwarka in west, Puri in east, Kedarnath in north,
and Rameswaram in south. This Chaar Dham Yatra
draws devotees from all over the world who seek
moksha or salvation and it is said that every
Hindu should go on the Chaar Dham Yatra at least
once in their lifetime. What makes this Chaar
Dham Yatra special is the fact that each holy
site is dedicated to 4 different deities, Lord
Krishna, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and Lord Ram.

Dwaraka
  • Dwaraka is known as the residence of Lord Krishna
who is said to have travelled from Braj to build
this city. The city has a rich history in Hindu
mythology which states that the city was
submerged under water 6 times and what we see
right now is its seventh form. The city sits on
the point of union of Gomti river and the Arabian
sea. There are many religious sites in Dwaraka
including the Dwarkadheesh temple which is a
Gujarat famous temple. It is said to have been
built some 2500 years ago by the grandson of Lord
    Krishna.

Rameswaram
Rameswaram is situated in the state of Tamil
Nadu, at the tip of the Indian peninsula. Legend
has it that Lord Ram and Laxman built the
infamous Ram Setu bridge to Lanka on their quest
to free Sita from Ravans clutches. It is famous
for the Ramanathaswamy temple, one of the 12
Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. While the
original temple is said to have been built by
Lord Ram, the current structure was built in the
17th century.

  • Known to be one of the oldest cities in the east,
Puri is located in the beautiful state of Odisha
and sits next to the Mahanadi river along the Bay
of Bengal. Jagannath temple is the most popular
temple in Puri, having its earliest mentions in
Mahabharat. It is the only temple where Subhadra
is worshipped alongside her brothers, Balram and
Jagannath (Krishna). One of the sacred spots of
Panch Tirtha is located within the complex of
Jagannath temple. Bathing in the sacred waters of
