Dust Doesnt Have to Rule Your Home
2
  • No home is ever entirely dust free, but for
allergy sufferers, even a little dust is too
much. Help to significantly reduce dust in your
    home with the following tips
  • Shoes, and dirt, should stop at the door
  • This is a simple and highly effective way of
stopping dust and a lot of other dirt and grime
at the door simply take all outdoor shoes off
before coming inside, and make sure the rule
applies to guests, too! Having sturdy (but
shakable) mats at each entrance for shoes and
boots to be wiped on will also help any dirt from
    inadvertently be tracked inside.

3
  • Change HVAC filters often
  • While manufacturers advise that this be done at
least every 3 months, the more often you can
change them, the better it will be for reducing
dust in your home. Filters dont have to cost the
Earth and can be replaced every 30 days.
  • Clean air ducts
  • Try to keep all vents and ducts as clean as
possible, and you should see a reduction in dust
    and grime particles.

4
  • Get professional help
  • Professional cleaners have myriad hygienic,
dust-busting tips up their sleeves, and when you
have them come in regularly enough, they can help
you to significantly reduce dust levels in your
    home.
  • Pay attention to your bed and bedding
  • Mattresses are havens for dust mites, but
vacuuming it regularly can help to prevent them
from setting up home in it for too long. You
should also launder your bedding frequently, and
wherever possible, wash pillows and comforters at
least every six months to keep dust to a minimum.

5
  • Vacuum verily!
  • Vacuums suck the dust up instead of transmitting
it everywhere, and when you use it often enough
(especially in high-traffic areas), it can be a
great ally in the war against dust and dirt.
  • Ditch the feather duster
  • Microfiber cloths are much better than feather
dusters for picking up the dust instead of
sending it flying all over the home dampen it
slightly for even more effective results. While
vacuum cleaners are even better, and with the
right attachments, can be used to pick up dust
from almost every conceivable surface and area.

6
  • Dryer sheets are also a great cleaning tool, and
can be used to pick up dust from hard surfaces
and prevent it from returning as quickly.
  • Dust will always be a problem, but minimizing it
by using the right cleaning tools, or having a
professional cleaner come in and eliminate it
efficiently for you, can help to keep allergy
sufferers happier and clean freaks even happier!
