1
Is There a Cure for Tinnitus?
2
Most people experience ringing in their ears at
some point in their life. Though that ringing or
buzzing sound may feel normal to an extent, if it
never stops, it can feel like torture.
3
Over 30 of the Australian population suffers
from tinnitus. To deal with this reality daily
knowing there is no cure for tinnitus, can really
bother people.
4
Thankfully there are some treatments available
now which can make life better for the sufferers.
In this post, we have put together a list of top
tinnitus treatments that can help you manage the
symptoms.
5
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Tinnitus can cause substantial stress in some
individuals. While there is no known cure for
that ringing, buzzing or hissing sensation,
cognitive behavioural therapy can be quite
helpful in managing the symptoms.
6
This therapy focuses on reducing stress levels
associated with tinnitus which are known to
increase the discomfort and suffering for many
people. It helps the sufferer to control the
negative feelings, resultantly distracting their
mind from their condition or making it less
noticeable. CBT is amongst few effective
treatments that have been tested and proven to
make an actual difference to tinnitus symptoms.
7
Sound Enrichment Therapy
With the help of therapeutic natural and soothing
tones/sounds like of rain or birdsong, sound
enrichment therapy distracts ones brain from the
ringing or buzzing sensation in the ears.
8
Features that behave as a sound therapy can be
found in several hearing aids, which are designed
to reduce your perception of tinnitus by
enhancing the levels of sounds in your
surroundings.
9
Take your tinnitus as a candle flaming in a dark
room. This candle will seem brighter until all
the lights in the room are turned on. Once the
same candle is lit in a lighted room, it becomes
less noticeable. Thats how tinnitus works, it is
more noticeable in a quiet environment and when
pleasant/relaxing sounds are added, tinnitus
becomes less effective.
10
Tinnitus Retraining Therapy
This one combines both of the abovementioned
therapies sound enrichment and CBT to help
tinnitus sufferers focus on relaxing natural
sounds and seamlessly manage the symptoms.
11
Relaxation Exercise

exasperating tinnitus is and how much stress it
causes. Practising relaxation techniques,
however, can be helpful in reduce the anxiety
related to tinnitus. Deep breathing, yoga

can help in relaxing.
12
Besides, some kind of physical activity like a
brisk walk or singing up for dance classes will
improve your overall well-being and health. Do
things that take your mind off the tinnitus.
13
Ear Wax Removal
Excessive build-up of ear wax can also be a cause
of tinnitus, be sure to clean your ears at
regular intervals.
14
There are many advanced devices like Oticon,
Starkey and Siemens hearing aids that come with
