Intercooler Kits (Diesel) | Knowledge About High Performance Diesel Intercoole

Description:

An diesel intercooler is a special piece, usually placed on Turbocharged or Supercharged engines. It's purpose is to round up the air compressed by the turbo and supercharger, and then strategically cool it. Visit: – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Intercooler Kits (Diesel) Knowledge About High
Performance Diesel Intercooler

What is Diesel Intercooler? Intercoolers
increase the efficiency of the induction system
by reducing induction air heat created by the
supercharger or turbocharger and promoting more
thorough combustion. Intercoolers also eliminate
the need for using the wasteful method of
lowering intake charge temperature by the
injection of excess fuel into the cylinders' air
induction chambers to cool the intake air charge
prior to its flowing into the cylinders.
Intercooling is a method used to compensate for
heating caused by supercharging, a natural by
product of the semi-adiabatic compression
process. Intercoolers that exchange their heat
directly with the atmosphere are designed to be
mounted in areas of an automobile with maximum
air flow. As well as allowing a greater mass of
air to be admitted to an engine, intercoolers
have a key role in controlling the internal
temperatures in a turbocharged engine. An
efficient intercooler removes heat from the air
in the induction system, preventing the cyclic
heat build-up via the turbocharger, allowing
higher power outputs to be achieved without
damage.

Diesel Engine Fuel Requirements Any diesel
engine to function properly for a long period of
time, it needs to be well maintained and it must
be supplied with clean, high quality fuel.
Cleanliness has always been an important part in
maintaining the performance, reliability, and
usable life of all diesel engines. Modern
refining processes can be classified into three
basic categories Separation The crude is
separated into components based on some physical
property. The most common separation process is
distillation, where the components of the crude
are separated into several streams based on their
boiling temperature. Separation processes do not
change the chemical structure of feedstock
components. Conversion These processes change
the molecular structure of feedstock components.
The most common conversion processes are
catalytic cracking and hydrocracking, whichas
suggested by the namesinvolve cracking of
large molecules into smaller ones. Upgrading
Commonly used in reformulated fuels to remove
compounds present in trace amounts that give the
material some undesired qualities. The most
commonly used upgrading process for diesel fuel
is hydro treating, which involves chemical
reactions with hydrogen.

Injection Pumps Injection pumps are designed to
inject measured amounts of fluid into a reservoir
or production system. They are often used in
vehicles for pumping fuel into the cylinders of
the engine. Injection pumps are positive
displacement pumps that use expanding and
contracting cavities to move fluids. Injection
pumps used in diesel engines are driven
indirectly by gears or chains from the crankshaft
and operate at very high pressures. A diesel fuel
injection pump is coordinated by the timing belt
of the engine to introduce fuel into the engine
just before the cylinders compression stroke
reaches the top. Another type of fuel injection
pump is a rotary pump or distributor pump, used
primarily in small trucks and cars. This type of
fuel injection pump delivers fuel to the
carburetor or fuel injection system. An
electronic fuel injection pump system has
built-in safety logic that will shut down the
pump in the event of an accident or if it
registers no oil pressure in the engine.

Diesel Intercoolers Works A Turbo Diesel
Intercooler is an integral part of your engine-
there to make an impact in the most efficient way
possible! its oftentimes been recommended by
some turbo diesel intercooler experts that you
choose a large one, as its less of a chance for
air to get caught within the actual intercooler
and start blocking the cooling function due to
heat build-up. Along with an appropriate sizing,
an intercooler needs reliable, maximum airflow to
be the best, and this doesnt mean just slapping
one on the front of a vehicle and calling it
fully operational. Its important to note that
air needs to not flow through anything but the
turbo diesel intercooler itself to be extremely
efficient. Another important thing to keep in
mind when purchasing a Turbo Diesel Intercooler
is where the air outlets are placed on it, as
where they are is a huge indication of how they
will actually perform. Flowing and cooling are
big issues to take under consideration, because
while some turbo diesel intercoolers may have a
shape that suggests clear and smooth flow, the
more important topic of concern is the capability
to cool just as well as it allows airflow.
