3 Differences between Employer Branding and
Recruitment Marketing
People quite often get confused between the two
terms, Employer Branding and Recruitment
Marketing. Over the years employer branding and
recruitment marketing have become very common
strategies used by the HR professionals to hire
talent for their company. Considering the kind of
stiff competition faced by both, the employers
and the employees, it is next to impossible to
continue with the previous hiring techniques. But
before adopting these strategies, one needs to
know the fine difference between the
two. Employer branding defines, Recruitment
Marketing promotes Employer Branding is aimed at
defining the employer brand, the visions, aims,
objectives of the employer. It defines the value
that the company bestows upon its employees.
Usually organisations with strong visions, goals
are the ones that are preferred by the top
potential employees. Where as, Recruitment
Marketing is a process through which the employer
brand is promoted, with the help of various
marketing techniques, in order to hire the best
candidates

First Employer branding, then Recruitment
Marketing Employer branding is always the first
step, followed by recruitment marketing. Unless
the employers brand is not defined, it is not
possible to promote it. No matter how good the
marketing techniques be, defining its visions,
objectives, goals, employee value needs to be
defined for it to be effective. Employer branding
sets the base for Recruitment Marketing. Employer
Branding is more consistent than Recruitment
Marketing Recruitment Marketing changes often,
different techniques are adopted like content
creation, social media marketing, in order to
promote the employer brand. But Employer Branding
no matter how the techniques change, the message
should always stay in sync with the original
definition of the employer. The goals,
objectives, visions often a company do not often
change and hence, employer branding stays more
consistent than Recruitment Marketing. Promotion
techniques can always be changed and used in an
innovative manner. .

Employer branding and Recruitment Marketing even
with their differences cannot exist without each
other. Even though both the words cannot be used
interchangeably, they both have the same aim to
achieve but with their own different techniques.
At the end of the day the employer wants to hire
good talent for its organisation. Both the
techniques with their growing popularity are
being intensively used by a lot of businesses,
the ones that dont have an HR team in place, are
often seen hiring Recruitment Marketing
