Introduction
Monuments are stoned milestones that are used to
commemorate the death of a person. It contains
mainly the name of the person, date of birth and
date of his or her demise. There are different
types of monuments used in the cemetery. Most of
the times, these monuments are made of graphite.
Colors can be different according to the liking
of the clients.
4
Upright Monuments
Upright monuments are the ones which stand
vertical. Most of the times these monuments are
smaller in size and are used for individuals. The
dimensions of the upright monuments can vary like
any other type of monument, but all of these
monuments will be vertically upright headstones
having the name and the other details related to
the person.
5
Pillow Monuments
To understand what are pillow monuments, you need
to picture how a pillow looks if you watch it
standing by its side. These monuments are like 3D
rectangular objects mostly residing on a stone,
mostly graphite. This stone is used as a base for
the main stone (pillow) containing the name and
the details of the deceased.
6
Flat Markers
As the name suggests, these monuments are flat in
shape. These markers lay on the ground on their
back and face the sky. These are flat stones with
the name and other details of the passed away
soul on it. These are different from pillow
monuments as they do not have a separate base
stone. There is only one stone that is
horizontally placed on the grave with the text on
it.
