We all know that this will be the toughest time
for many child care providers, but we know that
they are up to the task. Child care providers
across the country have been struggling hard by
the coronavirus pandemic, with much-facing
shutdown even as others struggle to stay
open. Many states in the USA have shuttered all
child care services except for essential workers,
according to the recent report. In California,
the decision is up to every provider, who must
maintain the requirements of families with the
health and safety of workers and children.

The Government closed all schools or childcare
centers throughout most of the states at the end
of the school year to prevent the coronavirus
from spreading.
Open child care facilities require to lower the
risk of spreading coronavirus. The following
guidance will help child care providers,
preschool providers, and schools offering care,
to manage health and safety precautions and
social distancing orders.

General Guidance
Do not allow children, staff, parents, and other
people on-site if they
  • If you showing signs of COVID-19.
  • If you have been in close contact with someone
    who has suspected COVID-19 or COVID-19 Positive
    in the last 14 days.
  • Have you been suffering some common health
    problems like cold, cough, or fever? Contact
    Health workers to inspect your body checkup.

People at High Risk for Serious Health Problems
from COVID-19
The people at high risk for health problems from
COVID-19 are
Pregnant women
People age around 65 years and older
People who have certain health conditions, like,
a weakened immune system or respiratory condition
such as severe asthma, diabetes, high or low
blood pressure, hypertension, etc.

Guideline for Schools, Preschools or Child Care
Programs
If your childcare centres remain open - Child
care programs that remain open during the
COVID-19 pandemic should follow these precautions
consider
  • Implement social distancing strategies
  • Intensify cleaning and disinfection efforts
  • Modify drop off and pick up procedures
  • Implement screening procedures up arrival
  • Maintain an adequate ratio of staff to children
    to ensure safety.

  • Motivate your staff or community people to
    protect and care for their personal health.
  • Promote the signs and symptoms of COVID-19
  • fever, cough, shortness of breath for awareness.
  • Sanitize that are alternatively touched things
    such as shared desks, countertops, kitchen areas,
    electronics, and doorknobs.
  • Avoid events and gatherings that require close
    contact.
  • Stay up to date on cleanness and safe in your
    community.
  • Create an emergency action for a possible
    outbreak.
  • Assess if community people are at higher risk and
    plan accordingly.

Wash hands or use hand sanitizer before and after
signing in and out. If you can, place hand gel
near sign-in place. Hand sanitizers should be at
least 60 alcohol and kept out of the reach of
children.
Parents should use their own pens when signing
in. If check-in is electronic, provide hand gel
that have 70 alcohol in it and cleans the
screens or keyboards alternative.
Recommend families have the same adult drop off
and pick up the child each day.
Should take turns with drop-off and pick-up
times. This will help with social distancing
outside or in front of the facility.

If Children, Staff, or Parents Suspect the Signs
of COVID-19
If a child or school staff signed of COVID-19,
like a fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, cold, or
problem of breath, place the person in a room
away or quarantine them from the well people
until the sick person can leave the facility. If
signs are proven, call health care workers for
more guidance. Tell the staff or childs parent
or caretaker to inform the facility right away if
the person is suspected with COVID-19.
If a child or staff workers tests positive for
COVID-19, all members of the suspected childs or
adults group is close contact and should
self-quarantine for 14 days.
