Signs of Problems in the Starter of your Jaguar

Description:

The starter is nothing but a small motor powered by the vehicle’s battery. This is what gets the engine of Jaguar running. With a bad starter, your Jaguar won’t start and you won’t even able to back out of the parking space. Grinding noise, freewheeling- are the common symptoms of a bad starter. It is not a good idea to drive the car with a faulty starter. In my opinion, if you find the starter of your Jaguar is bad, just call a certified car technician who can get the issue fixed properly and allow you to have a trouble-free ride in the time to come. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Signs of Problems in the Starter of your Jaguar

1
SIGNS OF PROBLEMS IN THE STARTER OF YOUR JAGUAR
2
Jaguar vehicles are designed and engineered to
provide both powerful performances as well as
durability.
3
A starter motor is a device that is capable of
turning over an internal combustion engine until
the process of combustion takes over.
4
Over time, the starting motor will eventually
wear out after getting exposed to extreme
conditions.
5
Here are some of the common symptoms shown by the
car when the starter begins to wear out or fail.
6
ENGINE DOES NOT START
If the engine cranks slowly, it could be the
starter motor that is drawing more amperage.
7
But, even a dead battery can lead to the no
starting condition of the car.
8
A lot of battery power is required to crank your
engine over and a battery with less charge is
unable to ignite the engine.
9
MOTOR DOES NOT SPIN
There are times when the ignition switch is
turned on but still the starter motor doesn't
crank over even if it has been activated.
10
Generally, such issues are mechanical and in most
cases associated with gears that connect to the
flywheel.
11
When the starter motor doesn't spin then either
the gear has stripped or has become dislodged
against the flywheel.
12
GRINDING NOISE
The grinding noise is much similar to that which
is heard if you start your Jaguar engine and then
accidentally restart it.
13
The gears may not be disengaging after the engine
starts running or the starter motor may be loose
on its mountings.
14
The occurrence of grinding noises indicates a
mechanical problem as opposed to an electrical
problem.
15
GO FOR PROPER MAINTENANCE
In order to keep the Jaguars starter motor in
fine condition, you must carry out the proper
maintenance care.
16
Try to activate the starter in neutral with the
engine not engaged and at a standstill.
17
Release the ignition key immediately after the
engine starts up and this will protect the
starter against premature wear.
