Painting Your Walls Doing It The
Right Way Mathaji Hardware
Want to give your walls a fresh coat of paint to
make it as bright and vivid as the summer sun?
That should be a good decision. Whether you are
planning your internal walls of exterior walls
whether you are planning a particular room or the
entire house, it is always advisable that you
get a professional to do the job. A professional
painter will know all that needs to be done, and
all that should be avoided for getting the right
outcome. But, amidst this situation that we are
all in today, if you arent getting a
professional to hire anytime soon, or if you just
want to take up the project in your own hands
out of boredom, to try your hands on a new task,
you should understand that painting isnt an easy
job. There is a lot that you should know about
it first before you plunge your brush into the
can of paint.
Using the right brands You must never compromise
on the quality of your paint. Even if it means
spending a little extra, you should always opt to
buy branded paints as they will not only bring
better outcomes than
2
local paints, but will also last longer. Mathaji
Hardware is the best paints shop in Bangalore
where you can get only branded paints from two
leading brands Birla White and Asian Paints.
You may choose to walk into the store to get your
paint, or order the same online, and have the
products delivered right at your
doorstep. Using the right applicators Just as
much as the paint quality is important, so is the
paint applicator. You need the right quality
rollers and paint brushes for the job. Low
quality rollers or paint brushes will bring
irregular or inappropriate paint coverage. Also,
theyll help you save on paint colour in the
long run. Before the paint Remember, you cant
start off with applying paint right away on your
walls. You first need to apply primer on your
walls, before the paint. This acts as a base
coat to ensure better adhesion of paint to the
surface, thus increasing paint durability and
protection. And, to fill even the smallest
imperfections of the wall, even the smallest
cracks, you must also apply wall putty. Painting
the wall After the primer and putty, you can
start off with the paint. You must apply one
coat of paint with a good quality brush, and let
it dry completely first, before you apply the
second coat. Remember to paint the entire wall
in one direction only for even painting. For the
best results, let the wall sit for 24 hours
before you start applying the second coat of
paint. Two paint coats should do. If you are
covering a darker coloured wall with a light
coloured paint, you may also require three
coats but nothing more than
3
that. Dont apply too many coats. Also, never
overbrush the same area more than
required. Never paint in low light Whether
interior or exterior walls, never paint your
walls in low light. When painting in low light,
your walls may seem alright, but when the sun
seeps in during the day time, youll be able to
notice all the imperfections and patches on your
walls. So, if you are painting outdoors, do so
only up till the sun is shining bright. Close
your projects once its dusk. Similarly, when you
are painting indoors, keep the doors and windows
open, and also switch on all the possible lights
in the room for the brightest appearance. With
all these easy tips, you can have a rightly
painted wall. So, happy painting! ALSO READ
