New Orleans a parish city is located in the
Mississippi River along the south-east of the
United States of Louisiana. New Orleans is an
important hub economically, financially and one
of the most populated cities in all of Louisiana.
Besides its famed Creole cuisine and Mardi Gras
festival, the historic city is one of the most
unique cities the United States can present to
its visitors. The streets are brimming with
French Quarters backed by Spanish Creole
architecture, endless outdoor events with big
crowds, swamplands with saltwater crocodiles,
amazing sunset, seafood, century-old oak trees,
visitors have endless opportunities to experience
the best of what big cities have to give. Some of
the most popular tourist destinations in New
Orleans include French Quarter, Besthoff
Sculpture Garden, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square,
St. Louis Cathedral, City Park, Audubon Zoo,

The French Quarter
The French Quarter or the Vieux Carre and Barrio
Frances are amongst the oldest neighborhood in
New Orleans founded in 1718 by- Jean Baptiste Le
Moyne de Bienville. The French quarters are
located at the heart of the city square and date
back to the 18th century during the Spanish rule
after the annexation of the US took place. These
Quarters has been designated as a National
Historic Landmark and is a hotspot tourist
destination. Prime attractions include Jackson
Square which is a public parka mid-19th century
square named after Andrew Jackson. Another
well-known attraction includes Bourbon Street or
Rue Bourbon which is renowned for its bars. The
street has been lined with plenty of old and new
bars with a rich history-the most notable one
being the Old Absinthe House.

The Audubon Zoo
The Audubon Zoo is a 58-acre zoo in New Orleans
that form part of the Audubon Nature Institute.
This zoo is located in Uptown New Orleans in
Magazine Street along the Mississippi River.
Audubon Zoo has been created to commemorate John
James Audubon an artist and naturalist in New
Orleans. The zoo includes a Louisiana swamp
exhibit and is home to several animals like
gorillas, orangutans, rare white alligators, sea
lions, black bears, raccoons, nutria, river
otters, bearded lizard, reticulated pythons,
anacondas, caiman, rattlesnake, Gila monster and
many more. The zoo remains open all year round
except during the first Friday and other notable
holidays.

City Park
City Park is a 1300 acre public park located in
New Orleans. Operated and owned by the city of
New Orleans, City Park is the 2oth most visited
and the 87th largest public park in all of the
United States. This famed urban greenspace is
largely administered by the City Park Improvement
Association and was originally founded in 1854.
However, it was established as a City Park in
1891 and has a good concentration of old oak
trees some of which may be as old as 600 years.
Attractions include Carousel Gardens Amusement
park, Christian Brothers School, City Park
Birding Corridor, Couturie Forest, Dog Park,
Gondola Rides, Goldring great lawn, Louisiana
Childrens Museum, Botanical garden, storyland,
morning call cafe and many more. This park also
offers endless recreational activities like
biking, canoeing, boating, fishing, etc.
