Workplace Sexual Harassment What California Law
Says?

A lot of workplaces in the United States have had
at least one case of discrimination or harassment
of any type. The most common type of harassment
is definitely sexual harassment. It is the type
that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
of 1964, as well as Californias Fair Employment
and Housing Act. Many employees have no idea
that they do not need to tolerate any type of
sexual harassment in the workplace. If only they
knew that there is a law in California that
protects all individual from any type of sexual
harassment.
3
Every Company Must have a Sexual Harassment Policy
Regardless of where you work or the people you
are surrounded with in the workplace, you have to
be aware of your legal rights as an employee.
This means that if someone causes you discomfort,
harasses or discriminates you, you have the right
to file a complaint. If the complaint is meant
for your employer or your superiors, you can
still pass it with the HR department. However,
you may not always get a reply or see changes in
action.
4
If and when this happens, your only option is to
consult with Los Angeles Sexual Harassment
Lawyers. Call immediately, schedule your free
consultation and learn how you can file a claim
against your employer for sexual harassment.
5
If you want to do it yourself, you could start by
filing a complaint with
  • The department of fair employment and housing
    (DFEH).
  • The Federal Equal Employment Opportunity
    Commission (EEOC).
  • You only need to submit one complaint, as they
are cross-filed with the other agency
automatically. It may take some time for your
complaint to get evaluated, but someone will get
to you as soon as your case is fully reviewed.
Until then, you may want to talk with your
superiors and find a way to protect yourself from
any other forms of sexual harassment. If that
does not work, you can always seek legal
    protection and representation.

6
If You are a Victim of Sexual Harassment
  • In case you were a victim of sexual harassment at
the workplace, besides everything mentioned in
    above, you can

    or if you feel threatened
  • Report the incident to the local police
  • Call a crisis hotline 800-656-HOPE (4673)
  • Seek out friends and family
  • See your healthcare provider as soon as possible
to receive a health exam and proper care
