The National Testing Agency conducts the CSIR NET
Exam which elaborately known as the Council of
Scientific and Industrial National Eligibility
Test). Through this exam, the deserving
candidates either can go for lectureship or can
get the award of Junior Research Fellowship in
Indias reputed institutes and colleges.

But, the officials have set some eligibility
criteria that need to be fulfilled by aspirants
to appear in the exam. Generally, the aspirants
who have completed the masters degree tends to
appear in the CSIR NET Exam. But some graduates
are confused about their eligibility for this
exam.

B.Tech degree holders are from such candidates
who are always confused regarding the required
CSIR NET Eligibility Criteria. So, if you are
also a B.Tech degree holder and want to appear in
the CSIR NET Exam to pursue your career in
teaching or research field, then here we have
provided the eligibility criteria for B.Tech
degree holders to appear in the exam.

According to the official notice, the minimum
eligibility criteria to become Assistant
Professor or Researcher is M.Sc. or equivalent
degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 Years/BE/B.Tech/BPha
rma/MBBS with at least 55 marks (General OBC
Candidates only). 5 relaxation is available for
SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.

As you can see from the above-mentioned criteria
that the B.Tech degree holders are also eligible
to appear in the CSIR NET Exam. But it is
important to know that the candidates holding
B.Tech degree are eligible to appear in CSIR NET
Exam for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). Such
aspirants cannot apply for lectureship.

  • The CSIR NET Exam is conducted for total of 5
    Science stream subjects i.e.
  • Physical Science
  • Life Science
  • Chemical Science
  • Mathematical Science
  • Earth Science.

which is related to their branch in
