Title: Recovery After Squint Surgery – What It Feels Like - Arohi Eye Hospital

1
There is no doubt in the fact that when you get a
successful squint surgery done by the best
squint specialist in Mumbai, the results that you
get are awesome, and you will then be able to
see the world in a whole new way with a normal
collaborated vision from both eyes, one that you
had been wishing for ever since you got your
squint. But, do you want to know what exactly it
is like after getting a squint surgery done? So,
here is a detailed view of what you will
generally experience after the surgery, on a
daily basis, for the next seven days, and how
long it will take you to recover completely.
Day 1 The first day after the surgery it is very
normal to have a feeling of anxiety because there
are so many emotions and so many feelings
running up and down your head and mind. Firstly,
when you open your eyes for the first time after
the surgery, its obvious that everything will
be a blur, but your eyes will also hurt when you
try to open them. Thus, it is only wise that you
keep your eyes closed as much as possible. You
neednt open them for the entire day, until very
necessary. We know it is going to be really
difficult for you to stay without your vision
for the entire day, but you could just imagine
the immense amount of pleasure and happiness you
are going to feel for the rest of your life after
this one day of difficulty! So, while you are
not going to use your eyes for the whole day, you
can always arrange for someone to be beside you
and hold your hand to help you with all your
daily chores for the day, or even better, the
next few days. Until you feel better. However, if
you still have to open your eyes at some time,
we make you aware of the fact that you will be
experiencing red tears coming out of your eyes.
So, worry not if you experience something like
that because its very normal after a squint
surgery. Another advice here is that you must
quit watching television and using your phone
completely for at least the first day
2
after surgery. Yes, you could always use voice
messages and calls, or you could take help from
Alexa or Siri to keep you entertained. Some
people also experience a headache and itchy
eyes, but again, this is normal too. All of these
things are going to happen for the first day, so
just keep your cool, and get to sleep as soon as
you can, thinking about the pleasure you will
have once you start using your eyes again. Day
2 If you have a good nights sleep, your eyes
should be feeling a lot better now. However, that
pain, watering, redness, and blurriness is not
going to go anywhere so soon. So, while you can
open your eyes much more than what you could the
previous day, you will be seeing red eyes that
you will have to keep wiping off every now and
then. Also, your eyes are going to be light
sensitive so you could use sunglasses whenever
you go out in the sun, or even when you are
watching TV or using your cellphone. Be ready to
experience some pain when you move your eyes,
along with itching, watering, and blurriness, but
its going to get better with time. Day 3 This
is a better day-to-be. You will be opening your
eyes enough to be able to walk around in your
street and also drive a short distance.
Definitely, you will be experiencing light
sensitivity, a little pain, and watery eyes on
the third day too, but it will certainly feel
much better. But, you must have your sunglasses
on whenever you move out of your house, even if
it is a five minute walk. However, just because
you can move around better now doesnt mean you
should exert your eyes. Do only the necessary,
and keep your eyes rested otherwise. Have a
friend or two over who can keep you entertained
and free from boredom and loneliness. Day 4, 5,
and 6 These are going to be the best days you
have had ever since your surgery. Your eyes will
be less itchy and painful these days, but yet
very watery. You can move out of home more, but
only with your sunglasses on to keep the light
and dust away. You will also be able to sleep
much better now, which will make you feel more
energetic than the past three days. Day 7 You
will probably be called in for a checkup today.
If everything seems good, the doctor will
probably let you off your medications or eye
drops, or he may suggest them for a few days
more. But, otherwise, you will generally be
called for a rest only for another day or two
and then, you could get on with your normal
routines and chores and that even includes
driving, cooking, and makeup! So, its going to
be a difficult one week after your surgery, but
the results that you are going to have after
that are going to be amazing for a lifetime! So,
if you have squint, fret not, and get in for an
appointment with Arohi Eye Hospital, where you
can have only the best squint specialist in
Mumbai diagnosing and treating your eyes for the
most successful outcomes.
