How To Prevent Skateboarding Injuries
2
Are You Still Learning?
  • Danger may come even after taking every possible
precaution while skating. Immense injuries can be
avoided by being a little attentive. However,
being completely safe may not be possible every
time. So here are some skating tips you can keep
    in your mind

3
Use Protective Gear
  • Wearing the best roller skate shoe may not be
enough. You should have a helmet along with some
basic safety equipment like elbow pads, wrist
guards, knee pads, gloves, etc. Using these
pieces of equipment may decrease your chances of
being injured. So that you can experience a safe,
comfortable and joyous riding. You can skate with
regular shoes but there is footwear designed
specifically for skating. You can go through
different skate shoes and check their features
online. Every skater should choose a pair of
shoes that can give perfect support, grip, and
    protection to the feet.

4
Falling Correctly
  • It is inevitable to fall, but you must fall off
correctly. Selecting a wrong skateboard can cause
you massive danger. You may think it is because
of the skate shoes but actually, if you choose a
small skateboard then there is no way to stop
falling. You need to learn to fall in a proper
manner. There are certain ways to avoid injuries
by falling in a way, so you can get back onto
your board again. It is important to practice
    falling.

5
Stretching And Other Exercises
  • Once you have worn all the necessary gears and
ready, to begin with, the skating session, try to
follow what professionals do. They perform some
pre-skate stretches and other exercises. Skating
needs a lot of body flexibility, truly you must
do some warm-up. Try to move all body muscles by
exercising that target your calves, legs and main
    parts of the body.

6
Dealing With Fear
  • Once you have been injured and healed properly
then dealing with the psychological aspect of
getting injured again become tough. Though fear
is a normal reaction, it is something you need to
take care of. Fear exists to help you protect
yourself, makes you take additional precautions
to prevent injuries. Fear creeps in because you
know you may get hurt. Follow your instincts when
it comes to skating. Do not get started with
board slides and rock and rolls until you are
ready and skate within your ability level to
    avoid getting hurt.

7
Choose A Safe Environment
  • Skating in crowded places lead to accidents. You
may collide with vehicles or bump into someone.
There are supervised skateboard parks with
professionally designed bowls and ramps including
other designated skate riding areas which can be
helpful to avoid the different issues that may
occur while skating. Do not skate at irregular
surfaces and inspect the surface cracks, rocks,
and debris before beginning. Do not use the
skateboard in wet weather or make use of
    skateboard ramps.

8
Choose The Right Board
  • There are different types of skateboards
available. Some are for freestyle some are for
speed and others for slalom. Some boards are
rated for the users weight. Make use of a
high-quality skateboard which is ideal for your
ability and the type of riding you wish to have.
Shorter decks are good for beginners because it
    helps you balance well.

9
  • So these are some of the possible ways to avoid
injuries. Stretch and exercise before you begin
with this activity. Wear all the necessary gears
and invest in the best skate shoes ever, so you
can avoid falls and get a solid grip. Though the
activity is fun and exciting, it carries the risk
of wounds and who would like to get hurt? So, go
after these precautions and be alert when you are
riding, so you can experience most of skating
    stunt and activities safely.
