1
Autonomous Mobile Robots In A Warehouse-Best Way
To Bring Automation In DC
  • The demand for robotic automation is high. And,
industries are interested in adopting solutions
such as autonomous mobile robots in a warehouse
and warehouse execution software to drive high
    productivity, and efficiency across the
    fulfillment and distribution centers.

2
Introduction
  • Robots are operated by machine learning
algorithms to improve picking and inventory
    accuracy continuously. Robotics for distribution
centers (DCs), such as autonomous mobile robots
in a warehouse and collaborative picking weapons
in a warehouse, are increasing, with more than a
dozen robotics vendors aiming at the needs of DC
    operators.

3
Quick Implementation
  • AMRs can be deployed within four to six weeks of
operation, depending on the specifics of a
    process. There are particularly important
software and warehouse execution software here
that will need to integrate units. Even at the
high end of the spectrum, this is a remarkably
short period - especially when compared against
other technologies. As a reference, it may take
up to a year to fully implement a Good-to-Person
    (G2P) system.

4
Easy to move between features
  • Some operations may be hesitant to pursue
automation operations as they know that there is
a move to a new facility for the foreseeable
future. This thinking makes perfect sense Why
implement a new system when it only needs to be
finished within the next two years when the new
facility is built. In addition to operations
expecting near-term moves, it can also be a boon
for companies setting up a temporary holiday
    operation.

Scalability
  • Autonomous Mobile Robots in a Warehouse are
relatively easy to implement within distribution
or fulfillment centers. It is possible to follow
a modular deployment system starting with a few
units and adding as much as necessary as your
operation grows and your needs change. It allows
you to avoid an incredibly high initial
investment because instead of buying large
amounts of AMR all at once, you can start with
one or two and add to your fleet over time.

7
Warehouse Execution Software
  • Warehouse execution software or WES is developed
for helping businesses in overcoming complexities
    in multiple and ever-changing distribution
    operations. As a feature-rich software, it's
functionally equivalent to an MES (Manufacturing
Execution System). It can direct all the
    processes occurring inside the distribution
    center.This solution can eliminate unsupported
    and unilateral optimization.
