bladder removal, and hysterectomy are other known
risk factors for contracting a urinary tract
infection.

While there are several ways to prevent UTIs,
maintaining a healthy lifestyle is one of the
most important measures. Below are other steps
that can prevent contraction of UTI among men and
women
- Consuming at least three litres of water every
day. - Using clean and hygienic restrooms (including
public restrooms) - Wiping from front to back after urination
- Practicing safe sexual activities
- Avoiding chemical feminine hygiene products
- Taking a urinalysis test once a year
