INTRODUCTION
Oil filtration is an essential process to provide
clean, sediment-free lubricant to the industries
and automotives. The motor oil that you put in
your cars engine needs to pass through
filtration systems so that all the impurities are
filtered out.

Types Of Oil Filters
For different uses and industrial requirements,
there are different types of oils that are
present. Therefore, there are different types of
oil filters which are mentioned in the following
slides.

1. Primary Oil Filters

The motor oils that we put in our cars undergo
cleaning via the primary oil filters. Also known
as the full flow filters, these systems are
capable of cleaning 100 of the motor oil. These
are designed to let few solid particles to pass
through so that the oil does not freeze in the
cold and become too thick to pass through.

2. Secondary Oil Filters
The next type of oil filters are secondary oil
filters and some manufacturers install these in
addition to the primary ones. These filters do
not clean the entire oil, just 1-10 of it. These
filters work independently from the primary oil
filters and help by removing any contaminants
that were missed by the primary filter.

3. Conventional Oil Filters
These oil filters are very much similar to the
secondary oil filters. The only difference being
that these filters make use of cellulose walls to
perform the filtration.

4. Thermal Chamber Oil Filters
These oil filters have two ways of functioning
1) the motor oil is filtered to remove all the
contaminants and 2) heat up the oil. By
increasing the temperature of the oil, certain
impure particles that cannot be removed by
filtration, get burnt or destroyed by the
increased temperature.

4. Spinner Filters
The purpose of a spinner filter is to take out
any impurity from the oil by using the power of
kinetics! Oil is put in circular motion and spun
around so that impurities are trapped and
separated. Typically, these filters are made up
of two sections the housing chamber and the
membrane.
