"History Labor, Art Music Festival"
The Bread Roses Heritage Committee (BRHC) is
dedicated to the presentation of an annual free
music and cultural festival. Through the
collective actions of like-minded individuals
throughout the Lawrence community, the committee
was established in 1986 and has been active ever
since.
" BRHC accomplishes this through a program, The
Bread and Roses Heritage Festival, that
celebrates Lawrence's many cultures, both past
and present, and to remember the labor movement's
struggle for things we take for granted today.
As the regions only true Labor Day festival,
35th Annual Bread Roses Heritage Festival is an
open-air arts and music festival honoring
Lawrence, Massachusetts multi-cultural roots and
rich labor history while commemorating the most
significant event in Lawrence history the 1912
Bread and Roses Strike.

To organize the annual Bread Roses Labor Day
Festival that celebrates Lawrence's history and
diverse cultures through music, theater, dance,
and art.
To recognize, commemorate, inform, and share the
labor history and social justice legacy of
Lawrence's 1912 Bread Roses strike with
Lawrence's present day residents and people
worldwide.
