Mewar Festival is a highly revered event
celebrated in Udaipur to welcome the spring
season. It forms an elemental role in preserving
the culture of Rajasthan which is visible in the
rituals and ceremonies performed during the
festival. The festival is about seventy years old
and has come a long way since its inception with
its fantastic range of attractions that compel

Mewar festival Tour 
The most exciting part of this festival is the
rich legacy it has established by observing the
customs and rituals which were in practice when
the festival first came into being. The emergence
of Mewar Festival is ascribed to a legend from
Sisodia dynasty according to which Maharana Udai
Singh built a palace in Mewar on the
advice of a sage who was meditating on a hill
near Lake Pichola. It was then that the king
founded the city of Mewar and people started
observing a special event after the city came
into being.

time. Once the procession reaches the banks of
Lake Pichola, the pictures are carried on boats
and taken towards the deep end of the lake for
immersion. Watching these boats proceed on Lake
