Installing The Software

• Install the software from your favourite
  deployment system.
• Silent install command-line msiexec /I
  AccessDirectorEnterprise.msi /QN.
• Uninstall command-line msiexec /X MSI PRODUCT
  CODE /QN.
• Using the product code form the version you
  installed.
• Silent repair command-line msiexec /fpecms
  AccessDirectorEnterprise.msi /QN.
• Silent advertise command-line msiexec /JM
  AccessDirectorEnterprise.msi /QN.

Installing Access Director manually

• Install Access Director by double clicking the
  MSI file and follow the onscreen Instructions.
• If required, create a new local administrator for
  recovery purpose only.
• Remove your user account from the local
  administrator group.
• Restart the computer.
• Installing Access Director silent.

Install Access Director by deploying the MSI file
using standard MSI parameters

• Example msiexec.exe /I ltyour-versiongt.msi /qb
• If required, create a new local administrator for
  recovery purpose only in domain environment
  ensure Domain Admin is granted administrative
  privileges on the computer.
• Ensure to remove user account from the local
  administrator group and validate all user will
  only have Local User privileges (If Windows 8.1
  or 10 Hyper-V is required ensure to grant user
  membership to local Hyper-V Administrators
  group).
• Restart the Computer.
• Creating a recovery account.

Hiding user accounts on the Welcome Screen

• Showing and displaying user accounts on the
  Welcome Screen is probably a weakness in the
  security point of view, more so if the user
  account is intended to be a hidden or backup user
  account. In fact, there is trick to make user
  account or administrator account that normally
  been listed on the Welcome Screen to be hidden
  from view.
• In order to hide a user account (which also means
  create a hidden user account) in, Vista, or
  Windows 7 8 just go to Control Panel User
  module and create an additional user as usually
  do (Control Panel -gt User Accounts and Family
  Safety -gt User Accounts in Windows 7 and Windows
  Vista).

If you have an existing user that you want to
hide from the Welcome perform the following.

• Run Registry Editor (RegEdit.exe).
• Navigate to the following registry key
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
• NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserLis
  t
• Note If SpecialAccounts and UserList is not
  found, create new sub-key and name them
  accordingly.
• Select UserList, and in the right pane, right
  click on any blank space, and point to New -gt
  DWORD (32-bit) Value.
• Name the new DWORD registry value name as the
  exact same name that match the name of the user
  account to be hidden. For example, if the user ID
  of the user account is John, the name the
  registry value as John.

You want to hide from the Welcome perform the
following.

• Double click on DWORD registry value, and set the
  value data to 0 in order to hide the account from
  Welcome Screen.
• Exit Registry Editor.
• Log off or restart computer to make the change
  effective.
• In order to login into Windows using an
  user account that has made hidden and invisible,
  just press CtrlAltDel to bring up Windows Logon
  dialog, and then type in the user name and
  password manually.
• To display the user account on Welcome
  Screen again so that its visible again, delete
  the registry entry, or set the value data to 1.

Testing the installation

• Install the desired version of Access Director.
• Verify Access Director Framework Service has been
  created.
• Verify Access Director Framework Service has
  status Running
• Verify Access Director Framework Service start-up
  type is set to Automatic
• Locate the Access Director Tray icon
• Make sure the Access Director Tray icon is
  running and visible for all users
• Verify that Interactive Users is not member of
  the local administrators group
• Verify that the logged-on user is not member of
  any local groups, active directory groups (and
  nested groups) that are member of the local
  administrators group
• Verify the local administrators group members
• Click the Access Director Tray icon
• Verify that the logged-on user has been added to
  the local administrators group
• When the timer expires verify that the user has
  been removed
