1. It Pays to Be Paranoid Never Click on Links
in Unsolicited Email or Text Messages - An email
phishing scam is a deceptive email or text
messages that seem to be from a person or company
known to the victim. It aims to illegally gather
personal and/or financial information from the
recipient. The best way to avoid being scammed is

2. Dont Act on Requests from Trusted Sources
(Spearphishing) - Spearphishing is a more
targeted type of phishing. Spear phishing
attempts can take many different forms like the
most common method of hacking involves tricking
you into entering in your login and password, or
other vital information. But in some cases, even
just clicking on a link can lead to your account
being hacked. The best way to prevent being
hacked is to verify any unexpected email asking
you to click on a link.

 3. Keep All Your Applications and Your Operating
System Patched and Updated - Many hacks occur
because someone hasn't updated Windows or
Internet Explorer. Keep anti-virus and
anti-malware software up to date, and make sure
you have the latest versions of an Internet
browser. Sometimes the software on your computer
can warn you if youre about to do something
stupid or can actually prevent it. So in the end,
the best protection is to be vigilant and
paranoid.
