Introduction
  • In this assignment, we are going to review
    the system policies and procedure for ensuring
    that communication regarding information on
    health and safety in health and social care
    workplace is going accordance with all
    legislative requirements and assessing the
    responsibility of a manager in managing health
    and safety in regards of Fleet Wood Hall Home
    case study.
  • It has been found that after the proper
    inspection from time to time regarding health
    concern in Fleet Wood Hall Home it was inadequate
    and not properly managed and communicated
    regarding health and safety concern.

  • Not enough staff was available on duty as par
    the people living in the home. Medicine
    management was also not so strong. Various error
    and mistake were found in administration and
    monitoring of medicine.
  • Complaint management system was inadequate.
    Missing of some complaints received.
  • Safety in regards to the environment is not
    adequate and missing. Not proper flooring in the
    mental unit is found.
  • System to monitor the level of safety and
    quality was ineffective and not strong.
  • The provider was not able to communicate the
    Care Quality Commission about all the events .so
    overall rating of care quality Commission was
    inadequate.

    the home to manage the system.
  • 3.The home was not full filling all the
    requirements (breach of requirements).
  • 4.Minimum required amenities is missing.
  • 5.Managing the medicine and its administration
    and monitoring system is not strong enough that
    is robust.
  • 6.Not proper grievance redressal system was
    implemented.
  • 7.Not enough staff was there to provide service.
  • 8.Level of managers understanding is not up to
    the mark.
  • 9.Staff culture and practice were outdated and
    not timely training is provided to the nurse and
    the staff.
  • 10.Quality and safety system of monitoring is not
    effective.
  • 11.Views of people and families were not
    considered in regards to safety and health
    concern.

Policies and procedure
  • There are a lot of existing policies and
    procedure for communicating information on health
    and safety in the health and social workplace one
    among them is data protection act which is now
    more pertinent. It implies right to privacy. In
    this, no clear policies are followed. Ambiguous
    policies are found.
  • As a New Director, he or she must adopt
    the data privacy system in the workplace. And
    proper grievance redressal mechanism should be
    implemented.
  • Medicines were not given in accordance to
    the home's medication policy, and the not even
    proper procedure is followed as per Mental
    Capacity Act 2005.
  • No proper policies are there to ensure the
    safety and health.
