  • Hepatology is a major branch of medical science
    dealing with the conditions related to the
    gallbladder, biliary tree, pancreas and liver. It
    is essentially considered to be a sub-specialty
    of gastroenterology, and the physicians
    specializing in the study and treatment of
    hepatological ailments are referred to as
    Hepatologist. They primarily deal with certain
    alcohol related liver diseases and viral
    hepatitis.
