Travel Around And Relish The Beauty Of The
Captivating City Of Amman With Day Tours
Is Amman in your mind as the next travel
destination? Situated at the mountainous area
between the desert and the fertile Jordan valley,
Amman is the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan. Excited about the trip? Then the article
below might help you! About Amman Being the
center of communication, commerce, industry as
well as cultural life, the city holds a special
place in Jordan. Due to the temperate climate and
modern-day prosperity almost half of the
Jordanian population concentrates over
here. Brief History Todays Amman before 1875
solely consisted of the long forgotten biblical
town of Rabbath Ammon. Later, the town became the
flourishing Roman city of Philadelphia and the
ancient ruins including an amphitheater can be
still found. In the 1870s the Circassians
encouraged by the Ottoman Empire started settling
the area and developed it as a commercial center.
In 1905, this was further augmented with the
construction of Hijaz railroad which became the
major communication link that connected Amman
with Damascus, Constantinople (Istanbul) and the
Hijaz (i.e. the western Arabian peninsula of
Mecca and Medina). Later in 1921, when Amir
Abdullah I ibn Hussein, the head of newly formed
Hashimite Emirate of Transjordan, made it his
residence and his capital, its official role of
Amman established to a great extent. By the
1980s, Amman was still referred as the largest
Palestinian city in the world due to the
predominance of Palestinian residents in the
city. Few Must to Try Stuffs in Amman! Checking
into the Oldest 5-Star Hotel of the City Amid
various hotel options in Amman, hotel the
Intercontinental has a rich history and is
situated at a fantastic location. The prevalent
features that make stay in this old 5-star hotel
a must is the spa offered, the delicious buffet
lunch, the swimming pools that give you relief
from the heat of Jordan! Also the rates are quite
less comparatively.
Taste the Best Falafel and Humus Hashem Falafel
in Amman is known for its best falafel lunch.
Apart from falafel, you can find delicious humus
with the olive oil on it. There are many other
restaurants as well but this place is somewhat
different and special. An extra tip try out the
mint tea for sure! Snack Out at the Famous Local
Shop The traditional dessert layered with goat
cheese, some crusty bits and pistachios on the
top along with sugary sweet syrup called the
Kunafa. Habibah Knafeh on Al-Hazzar St is famous
for their Kunafas! Explore Rainbow Street As the
name suggests rainbow street is a colorful place
to explore with a lot of restaurants and shops
along it! The highlight of this street is the
ice-cream shops! You can find ice cream every
three shops! Also it seems like everyone drives a
Mercedes over there as you can find old Mercedes
everywhere! Heart of Amman, Al Badad Just below
the Citadel, Al Badad is an old downtown. It can
be considered as a paradise for shopaholics as
you can find a lot of shops around there. There
is the famous Arab Bank, buy roasted peanuts,
souk Bukharia and a lot more to explore. All this
connects through to the Citadel and Roman
Theater. You can also visit a souvenir shop
Qusaybate Shop at St Al Hashme that has won
awards by tourism board. Apart from the above
mentioned things there is a lot more to explore
in Amman such as a visit to Citadel where you can
