History has always been shaped by the power of
the youth. - Daisaku Ikeda
  • If you dig deeper into our nations history,
youll realise that our youth has always
participated actively in defining the social,
political and economic landscape of India.
  • Keeping their role in mind, International Youth
Day is commemorated every year on August 12 to
celebrate the achievements of the worlds youth,
and to encourage their participation in world
affairs. It is also the perfect occasion for
governments and citizens to work in tandem for
raising awareness of issues plaguing the youth of
    today.

Celebrating 72 years of our independence
  • This year, as we celebrate the 72 years of our
independence, we must first ask ourselves if we
are as independent as we think we are. We might
be the worlds fastest growing economy, but,
when it comes to tackling social evils like
unemployment and poverty, we still have a long
way to go. Not only is our population growing
manifold each day, the number of people living
below the poverty line is also multiplying
alarmingly. While steps are being taken to tackle
these, they are often not implemented in the
right way, hindering our nations growth.
  • Harbingers of change and leaders of tomorrow, our
youth can surely help build a society free of
social evils. After all, we have the largest
youth population in the world. At an individual
level, every young person can contribute to the
development of the nation. Contributing to the
    community by teaching underprivileged kids,
providing for their basic needs, propagating
healthy lifestyle practices - measures like these
can initiate a ripple of change for the
    betterment of the society.

Governments Initiative
  • In that regard, both education and skill
development are equally important, which is why
the government has undertaken several initiatives
to empower the youth with learning and employment
opportunities. Initiatives like Skill India, Make
in India, Prime Ministers Employment Generation
    Programme (PMGEP), Pradhan Mantri Rojgar
Protsahan Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal
Vikas Yojana are just some steps taken by
government aimed at redressing the current
    situation.
  • Taking a leaf out of the governments book, we at
PCF have ventured out to contribute in the
development of our countrys youth. Our Skills
Academy trains the rural youth in employable
skills to work in arenas such as security
    services, facilities management, firefighting and
real estate. The academy not only equips them
with the expertise that can help them earn, but
also gives them opportunities to realise their
    dreams.

  • Youth is dynamic, free and full of life - but
they need the right environment to truly flourish
    and leave a lasting impact.
  • It is therefore crucial to allow youngsters to
learn, grow and earn their bread without the
    burden of obstacles.
  • After all, only a skilled youth will lead to a
    skilled nation! JoKushalWohSafal
