Title: The Cost Benefits of Drone Hire

1
NSW Drone Laws in Australia
Love them or hate them, drones are here to stay.
With the number of drones exponentially
increasing, they are a popular item on Christmas
wish lists. There are however concerns for safety
and privacy and depending on whether you fly a
drone commercially or recreationally can dictate
where, what and how you fly. In the US, you need
to register any drone before they are
used. This is not the case here in Australia. You
can go down the shop, pick one up and be flying
that day. There is no license required. There are
however a few rules that need to be abided by
  • You arent allowed to fly higher than 400ft
    (121m)
  • You CANT fly your drone closer than 30m from
people, unless that person is helping control or
navigate the drone. This means horizontal
distance. For eg, you cant fly directly above
people no matter how high you are flying, in case
there is an incident that causes the drone to
    fall from the sky.

Commercial Drone Operator Services the Job of the
Future
Experts in the drone industry have predicted that
within the next 10-15 years many current jobs
will no longer be available as they will be
outsourced to drone operators. Its already
starting to happen and due to this increase in
technology, being a drone operator has emerged as
a dominant growth industry which covers various
fields of work. An article from Business
Insider reveals a prediction that revenue from
drone sales will increase from 8 billion last
year to 12 Billion by 2021. This strongly
suggests that there are people entering
industries in the workforce that will be soon be
predominantly taken over by business who offer
drone operator services.

Another Use for Drone Services
To date, drone use has typically focused on areas
such as aerial photography for real estate,
business or product promotion and industrial. How
would you feel about a drone delivering packages
to your front door? Too many concerns for safety
or the inevitable future of mail delivery?
Alphabet X, the formerly known Google X are about
to begin trials of their drone delivery system in
the Canberra
region.  The company launched an initiative
called Project Wing in 2014 in which a package of
Cherry Ripes was delivered to a QLD farmer. The
company aims to work toward a future in which
these aircraft can deliver everything from
consumer goods to emergency medicine.

Aerial Drone Inspections Increase Construction
Productivity
When building a new commercial project, nothing
is more crucial than plan accuracy and keeping
the project under budget. But until now,
conducting land surveys and creating 3D
renderings of plans was expensive and time
consuming.  Thanks to UAV technology, however,
these hurdles can easily be overcome. Manage
Progress Commercial construction projects are
often built in phases. Most contractors request
payment at the end of each phase before
continuing to the next step. In the past, the
only way to conduct progress reports on a
commercial project was to walk the project
manually while taking photos of the job status as
documentation.
