The QuickBooks Database Server Manager allows you
configure the QuickBooks Server for multi-user
access. This database manager tool creates
network data file(.ND) for any company file on
the host computer.

Some Quick Tips
QuickBooks Database Server Manager (QBDBMS)
creates Network Data files and stored the company
files on the host computer. If you want to use
Multiple versions of QuickBooks Desktop than you
should install each version of Database Server
Manager. If you installing multiple versions of
Database Server Manager it will give you only
multiple versions of processes but it cannot
provide multiple versions of the software. When
you want to use multiple versions of QuickBooks
Desktop, you may install the Database Server
Manager in a chronological order from oldest to
newest for each version.

running in the background when the Database
Server Manager works for each year. Sure that the
services of Windows interface which accessible
via the Windows and the Control Panel than this
service is listed as QuickBooks DBXX, where the
XX shows the number of versions (ex.27? is for
QuickBooks Desktop 2017 and 28 for QuickBooks
2018). Each QuickBooks versions add a user when
the QB Database Server Manager is installed. (ex.
QBDataServiceUser28 for 2018 and
QBDataServiceUsers27 for 2017).

How to Install QuickBooks Database Server Manager
Double click on the installer for your QuickBooks
and start the installation of the Wizard. If the
computer has access to the internet and able to
download an update click on Next. If your
computer not connected to the internet then click
No, and click Next. Close all the open program
and click Next. Read carefully all the terms of
the Software License agreements. If you agree to
terms and conditions than select I accept the
terms in the license agreement and click Next.

Choose Custom or Network Options. Select an
install type Select Ill be using QuickBooks on
this computer AND Ill be storing. when you will
run the QuickBooks program on this
computer.Select I will NOT be using QuickBooks on
this Computer. when you will only store
QuickBooks data on this computer. Choose Yes,
allow access. Enter your License Number and
Product Number. To complete installation follow
the on-screen instructions. After the
installation setup the Database Server Manager.

How to update QuickBooks Database Server Manager
Systematically, it should be important to update
the Database Server Manager. Mostly, it is
important when an acritical update to a current
year is released Or the new year of QuickBooks
Desktop is installed on the workstations. Firstly
you should Download the patch from Update
QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. After
the installation completes, then you reboot your
server.(This is strongly compulsory). After the
server has been updated on the workstation then
you get that the message The company file needs
to be updated to work with this version of
QuickBooks Desktop.

When the updates can modify the database
structure than there will be a prompt to create a
backup. You should be able to open the file when
you follow the prompts and after completing the
backup.
How to Set Up and use the QuickBooks Database
Server Manager
This Database Server Manager tool can
Scan your folders and QuickBooks company files
which need to be configured for multi-user
access. The monitor Local hard drives are used
to configure new company files automatically.

How to Open the QuickBooks Database Server Manager
Go to Start button, click on Programs, click on
QuickBooks, and then click on QuickBooks Database
Server Manager.
Scan your Folder features
When you store all company files on the server
must be scanned once to ensure that theyre
configured to allow other users access to these
company files easily.
Go to Start button, click on Programs, click on
QuickBooks, and then click on QuickBooks Database
Server Manager. Click on Scan Folders.

Check which folders contain QuickBooks company
files. If you do not know where are the files
then you can select to scan entire disks. Click
on Scan Button to begin the scan. The display bar
will show that which folders are being
scanned. The company files are configured in the
scanned folders for multi-user access when the
scanned completely.
Monitored Your Drives Feature
You can use the Monitored Drives features to keep
your QuickBooks Database Server Manager up to
date when you add new company files to your
server.

Go to Start button, click on Program, click
QuickBooks, and then you click QuickBooks
Database Manager. Click on Monitored Drives
tab. If you want all local drives that you want
to be monitored for company files that are added,
removed, or renamed than click to select.
Note Its not possible to display and monitor
the mapped drive.
Your Database Server features
Open your QuickBooks Database Server Manager to

and the company files connected to the
server. The status which shows the QuickBooks
Database Server services. The services should be
running when the server is hosting the company
files. If you want to change the status of the
services that you use the Services Administrative
Tool to configure the service QuickBooksDBXX.
Updates Features
You can use updates features to download updates
to the QuickBooks Server and to view the versions
of the QuickBooks Server.

Go to Start button, click on Program, click
QuickBooks, and then you click QuickBooks
Database Manager. Click on Updates. To install
updates follow the onscreen instructions.
System Feature
To find the system information about the computer
where the database server is installed use the
System feature.
Go to Start button, click on Program, click
QuickBooks, and then you click QuickBooks
Database Manager.
