Stages of Pregnancy

First Trimester(Week1- Week12)
  • Since in the beginning phase, initial few weeks
    are where they not even aware of pregnancy and
    later there can be signs of morning sickness,
    hence one should start with healthy diet with
    vitamins and minerals. Also it is important to
    know from doctor if you need any dose of
    multivitamins, especially folic acid. Folic acid,

Second Trimester(Week13- Week28)
  • Its time when babys eyes and bones need
    strengthening. Hence lot of dairy products like
    milk, yoghurt and cheese can provide that calcium
    reserve. Further Vitamin D helps in absorption of
    Calcium in the bones which can be fulfilled by
    sunshine and mushrooms. Beta-carotene from
    carrots and other orange foods benefits eye
    health.
  • Since the baby is growing hence the abdomen needs
    to be strong to support the expansion and babys
    weight. It is by the end of this trimester that
    one can feel the movement of the baby.

Third Trimester(Week29- Week40)
  • Its time for Vitamin K by adding kale, spinach
    or Swiss chard to the diet and this will help
    babys blood to clot. One should drink lots of
    milk to supply necessary calcium and magnesium to
    the baby who is still in the phase of
    strengthening the body. Towards the 38th week,
    the babys body is fully developed except for
    lungs which are still developing. Whole grains,
    fish and antioxidant rich foods like tomatoes,
    cranberries and artichokes will add to the strong
    immune system.
  • In this period, it is quite natural to have more
    tendencies to go to bathroom as the growing baby
    exerts higher pressure on the body organs.
    Excessively spicy food or intake of extra salt
    should be controlled.
