Ensure Your Winter Car Maintenance Checklist That
Includes the Following
  • Amend Oil and Filtering Regularly As with any
time of the year, Ensure you follow the oil
change recommendation as stated in your owners
manual. Ask your expert mechanic if you should
use a different blend of oil for cold freezing
    temperatures.
  • Check the Cooling System, heater and defroster
The traveler cabin should be free from fog and
condensation. Good Visibility for all drivers and
passenger comfort is very significant. So, It may
be time for a system wash out.
  • Restore old wiper blades Restoring old blades to
maintain a safe field of vision. Stock up on
windshield washer fluid that wont freeze in
winter and ensure an ice scraper is in the grove
    box.
  • Inspect your car battery Winter freezing
temperatures can cause an already fragile battery
to lose its reserve power for starting a car. It
may be time to replace your old battery.
  • Check all bulbs and lenses Inspect and replace
burned out bulbs and keep the lenses free of road
    grime.
  • Scrutinize your tires You should check for
uneven tread wear and sidewalls for cuts and
nicks. Check the tire pressure (when your tires
are cooled down) at least once a week. Expert
mechanic recommend all drivers to rotate your
tires regularly and make sure the wheels are in
proper alignment to be safe on the road.
  • Take an Emergency Kit It is true that there may
be times when an emergency cannot be prevented.
Be sure to carry extra gloves, boots, blankets,
flares, a flashlight, mobile phone and charger,
sand and tire chains. Dont neglect protein
    snacks and drinking water too!
