Healthy Breakfasts from Around The World
Healthy Breakfasts from Around The World
  • Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,
keeping us healthy and sharp. However, breakfast
foods differ wildly from place to place.
Depending on where you are, breakfast foods
around the world vary from Idlis to Frittatas to
sweet or savory porridges, highlighting the
country's rich traditions and the importance they
lay on the most essential meal of the day. Lets
take a look at some of the healthiest breakfast
    meals from around the world

Italy FrittataFrittata is an egg-based Italian
dish similar to an omelet. However unlike a
traditional omelet frittatas are enriched with
additional ingredients like meats, vegetables,
cheeses, or pastas. Frittatas are not only
filling, but are wholesome and packed with good
nutrition. A traditional frittata would provide
you with varied nutrients like protein,
carbohydrates, fiber, and powerful antioxidants.
Greece Greek Summer Time Breakfast MedleyFresh
bread, veggies, deliciously creamy feta cheese,
and olive oil are the highlights of a traditional
Greek breakfast. This delicious spread provides
you with a variety of heart-healthy nutrients
like fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins as well
monounsaturated fats from the olive oil used.
Monounsaturated fats can help to reduce the
harmful LDL cholesterol and in turn reduce your
risk of heart diseases.
Japan Miso SoupFlavorful, filling and light,
miso soup made with a variety of ingredients like
pickled veggies, seaweed, tofu, salad, and raw
fish make for a common breakfast food option in
Japan. Thanks to the omega-3, fiber, fresh
veggies and protein, miso soup makes for a
nutritious, low-fat, health-promoting meal.
Russia Kasha PorridgeKasha porridge is a
popular breakfast option in Russia. Topped with
butter, salt, sugar, spices, or dried fruits,
this warm and comforting porridge makes for a
fiber-rich wholesome meal.
Malaysia Nasi LemakThe national dish of
Malaysia, Nasi Lemak is made with coconut rice,
cucumber, fish, peanuts, and sambal, and is
served on a banana leaf. Steamed rice and fish,
the major components of the dish provide
carbohydrates and protein essential for energy
and endurance whereas the spices in sambal help
to rev up the body metabolism.
Egypt Ful MedamesMade with beans, chickpeas,
and lentils, it is served along with a heaping
portion of pickled vegetables and arugula. This
common Egyptian street food is packed with
protein and fiber and makes for a delicious
healthy breakfast food item.
India Idli SambharTwo idlis and a bowl of
sambhar, Indias traditional South Indian
breakfast, is not just a gastronomical delight
but also a nutritious morning meal. Idli sambhar
not only provides you with the much needed
carbohydrates but also gives you a wide range of
nutrients like protein, Vitamin B, fiber,
protein, and calcium, thus making it a "complete
meal" for breakfast.
Switzerland HafragrauturHafragrautur is
traditional oat porridge, made with either milk
or water and often served with fresh fruits and
nuts. The oats in the porridge provide you with
healthy amounts of soluble and insoluble fiber
proven to help prevent high cholesterol, elevated
blood sugar, and digestive health
Turkey TarhanaTarhana, one of the favorite
dishes in the Turkish cuisine is made with wheat
flour, yoghurt, bakers yeast, salt, and various
