Fraud has been one of the important issues in the
virtual world. Due to continuous increase in
scams, it becomes difficult to detect them.
Phishing is a kind of cyber attack where
criminals trick you to get the private details
like social security number or bank account
details with the motto of stealing money or your
identity. In such situations, it is advised to
report the scams and prevent others from falling
as victim. And Yahoo allows its users to report
such suspicious emails as well as websites.

  • Follow the below directions and learn how to
    report such mails
  • a. When you still have Phishing Email
  • In case if you have the phishing mail From your
    web browser access Yahoo Mail. If required, log
    in to your account.
  • Now, look for the phishing mail in your mailbox,
    spam as well as trash folder. Once you find the
    mail, mark the checkbox next to the message.

  • On the toolbar, click on the box available next
    to Spam. Dont click on the Spam directly or
    the message will be marked as spam directly. It
    will be moved to Spam folder.
  • From the appearing menu, tap on Report a
    Phishing Scam. The email will be reported to
    Yahoo and will be deleted from the inbox.

  • b. If you have removed the Phishing Email
  • In case if you have removed the Phishing Email-
    go to Yahoos customer care web page.
  • From Select a Product drop down list, select
    Mail.
  • From Select a version drop down list, choose
    Mail.
  • From Select a Category section, choose Abuse
    and Spam.

  • From Select a Sub-Category select Suspicious
    Email Asking for Money.
  • You are required to type details of the mail like
    senders email address, subject line and also
    what exactly sender has asked for like bank
    account number or social security number.
