  • Shimla based at the foothills of the Himalayas is
one of the most visited hill stations from across
the world and a center of respite from the
    scorching Deccan plateau.
  • Once declared the summer capital of the
Britishers in the Colonial India, this place
still exudes the eras charm, in view with the
hill retreats and getaways making it a hiatus
    spot from the mundane life.
  • Situated at an altitude of 2200 meters above the
sea level, this place delights both the old
buildings and the Anglo- Saxon names.
  • With snippets of Colonial past hidden amidst the
dense forests, Shimla makes out a beautiful
    holiday retreat for one.

Tara Devi Temple
  • Nestled atop the Tara Parvat (Hill) and located
on the Shimla- Kalka highway, this 250-year-old
temple mesmerizes anyone who sees it with its
    artistic beauty.
  • This temple is dedicated to Maa Tara Devi, an
incarnation of Goddess Durga where the idol is
made of ashtadhatu which is a unique set of eight
    elements.
  • On Navratris Ashtami that is on the eighth day
of the puja, an annual fair is organized in this
temple that attracts flocks of tourists.

Christ Church
  • Its history dates back to 1857 making it the
second oldest church of the nation.
  • Situated on the ridge, it is one of the prominent
landmarks of Shimla that portrays a Neo- Gothic
    architecture.
  • Some of the unique artifacts of this place are
the glass windows, clock tower, and a pipe organ.

the Christ makes it even more beautiful.

  • A visit to Shimla is considered to be incomplete
if you hadnt been to the Mall Road.
  • A road that is fully draped with cafes,
restaurants and other shops where one can witness
    both the locals and tourists.
  • It is also called as the Citys Lifeline where
the Colonial buildings have run by boutiques now.

6
Scandal Point
  • As the name sounds, it was the place where the
former Maharaja of Patiala had eloped with the
    British Viceroys daughter.
  • They were though banished from the city, now this
