Fiber reinforced polymer (FRPs) or advanced
composites are made of polymer matrix and a
glass, carbon or aramid ?ber reinforcement. FRPs
were initially used in the aerospace and
automotive industries. The application of GFRP, a
variation of FRP, bars in the civil construction
industry has gained tremendous popularity over
the past couple of decades.
