SEVEN CITIES OF DELHI
History of Delhi begins with Mahabharata. There
was a village named Indrapat near the old fort.
Indraprastha is believed to have been the
Pandavas' capital. On the foundation of
Indraprastha, the Mughal ruler Humayun built the
old fort. There is also some evidence related to
Indraprastha in the blue umbrella and corporabod
area. But if we talk about historical documents,
the first mention about Delhi is found in 737 AD.

The first city Lalkot The first mention
about Delhi in documentary history is found in
737 AD. Then King Anangpal Tomar settled
Anangpur, 10 miles south of Indraprastha. Here

    after his death Humayun came to Delhi. Humayun

  • SEVENTH CITY SHAHJAHANABAD
  • Sher Shah Suri died in 1545. Humayun then
    came to Delhi in 1555. Shergadh is again made of
    Dinapnah. She died seven months later. Humayun's
    son, Akbar, built the capital in Agra. Even
    during Jahangir and Shahjahan, Agra was the
    capital of the Mughals. But Shah Jahan later
    turned to Delhi and laid the foundation of
    Shahjahanabad on the Yamuna coast. It was the
